I have two smooth collies and I’ve always had food available for them and now they’re about 10 pounds overweight. Should I be feeding them about 4 cups of dog food a day? I threw the bag away so I can’t read the directions but I’m buying them different kinds of dog food all of the time.

Hello,

I have a 7 year old, neutered male cat. Should I start feeding him senior formulated cat food? I also have a 4 year old female. She would be too young to eat senior food. I free feed them by putting their daily amount of food in their bowls and leaving it out all day. So, would it make a difference if I feed him senior food? He will probably snack on her food, and she on his.

Thank you.

She is only 3 months old, but she always meows for food. The bag of food says to give her 1/3 cup but is that per day or per feeding time? We would like to feed her twice a day, but we don’t know how much to feed her and she is already starting to get a little chubby. She also tries to eat the dog food when she has none.

Also, is Neutro a good brand?

Thank you for your help!

I know it isn’t the best food for them, but they get so darn happy to have it. I only buy it once every six bags or so and the food I buy them most often is a formula for indoor cats (which they both are). With the regular food I occasionally get a hairball but with their favorite food I think they overeat. I don’t know if I should stop buying their treat food or not. They don’t puke every day, maybe once every three days. It is not like I am starving them so don’t panic. I just don’t know if it is bad to give them a food that they snarf down so aggressively.

My mom told me that male cats are prone to urinary tract infections. I just got a male cat and don’t want to deal with urinary tract infections. I feed him natural choice or something like that, but I have no idea if that is one of the foods that helps to prevent UTI’s. What are some foods that help to prevent UTI’s? What are the ingredients the food needs or don’t need.

My cat Lionel is ten years old and still active. However he has had reoccurring urinary tract problems. I recently took him to the vet and they gave me a cat food (Prescription Diet C/D) which Lionel is supposed to eat for the rest of his life. (It has low magnesium).

My problem is that the food is very expensive and I have to go to the vet everytime to get it.

Is there another kind of dry cat food that is available? I heard that Nutro is a good brand. Also, I would like suggestions on any alternatives beside the dry food.

I can ask my vet these questions but I would like to have a 2nd (and 3rd, 4th etc) opinions from Yahoo answers.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
